Fabric & Material Testing

Tested Materials. Dependable Garments.

Fabric quality directly influences a garment’s comfort, appearance and durability. Rehan Traders carries out material checks during development and production to evaluate whether selected fabrics and components are suitable for the intended product.

Fabric Inspection

Materials are visually reviewed for surface quality, construction and consistency before cutting. This helps identify visible concerns such as uneven texture, colour variation, marks or fabric defects.

Key Material Checks

Dimensional Stability

Fabric response to washing and regular use is evaluated to understand possible shrinkage or changes in shape before bulk production.

Colour Durability

Colour performance is reviewed according to the product’s intended use, helping assess how the selected material may respond to wear and care.

Material Strength

Fabric, seams and construction areas are assessed to determine whether they provide suitable strength for the garment application.

Fabric Weight & Thickness

Material weight and thickness are checked to confirm that the fabric aligns with the approved sample and product requirements.

Surface & Construction

The fabric’s weave or knit structure, texture and visible consistency are reviewed to support a professional finished appearance.

Testing Across Garment Components

Quality evaluation may cover more than the main fabric. Depending on the product, we can also review:

  • Sewing and embroidery threads
  • Buttons, zippers and fastenings
  • Reflective materials
  • Ribbed collars and cuffs
  • Labels and patches
  • Lining and reinforcement materials
  • Printed and embroidered areas

Checked Throughout Development

Material Selection

Fabric options are reviewed against the garment’s purpose, appearance and performance requirements.

Sampling

The selected material is used to develop a sample so its feel, construction and suitability can be evaluated in garment form.

Pre-Production Review

Approved fabrics, colours and trims are confirmed before cutting and bulk manufacturing begin.

Production Inspection

Materials and finished garments are checked throughout production to support consistency with the approved specifications.

Testing Based on Product Requirements

Different garments require different material characteristics. Workwear may prioritize durability, while healthcare uniforms may focus on comfort and easy care. Sportswear, corporate clothing and hospitality uniforms each require their own balance of appearance and performance.

Quality Begins with the Material

Careful material selection and evaluation help reduce production uncertainty and create a stronger foundation for consistent garment manufacturing.
